A Post from the Future

I went to work today. I ate lunch. I went back to work. I got home at 7pm, roughly 14hrs after I left. I put the kids to bed because they destroyed the house. I blogged. Today is 1/9/2018. This is from the future. Let’s see if it come true when we actually get to 1/9/18 in the normal strand of life.

A moment to breathe

Well, I finally have a moment to breathe...what an amazingly busy week...I'm sure everyone else's was too.  Last Sunday, some of us helped Mom in her yard....we thought it would rain this week - guess not, although it's been beautiful.  When we came home, Russ had fallen down the steps - he was fine when we got home, but clearly, he was bleeding at some point...anyway, it was time.  So, Ryan and Rick took him to the vet and put him to sleep.  How do you miss a pain in the a** dog?  Well, I do - not sure about Rick.  Got a new car - not because I had to, but every month, something was going wrong with the Audi...so, we were spending $400 - 1000 a month on repairs...enough! Of course, getting a new car is a fiasco, but it's done.  Not an Audi. Not a convertable.  A normal car.  Went to school this morning so I could let some volunteers in the building, but I also got some work done...so, now I'm relaxing...finally, a moment to breathe.

I just want to thank all my family for all the help this weekend. Don't know what I'd do without you all.

Hmmmm

Yes, I often fuss when people don't post, but I have no time to myself anymore...I often crave sleep, not because I am tired, but because it is relaxing and no one is asking me for "just a second" of my time.  Nothing but work is happening in my world...planted some flowers this weekend...looking forward to walking in the Youth Day Parade - not really!  Just hoping nothing bad happens at school!

I am curious why people complain about the lack of posting on this site, but dont post or comment anything on their own. Other than that - I hope everyone is enjoying the wonderful fall weather we have been having lately.

Work

Well - I have been so busy with my new job that I completely forgot this thing even existed...until today. Nevertheless, I have been working at my new job for almost 3 weeks. I have been meeting all the people I need to meet and going to all the special meetings at the Capitol. Basically, I just go around to meetings, and when I am not in a meeting, I am planning a meeting. You can see the posting about me here at the very bottom.

I do have a nice corner cubical that has a view of the Biltmore Hotel and midtown area. I am able to walk to lunch most every day, which is pretty neat. I also spoke with the Governor the other day - actually all I said was "Hello Governor" and he said "Hello, thanks for coming."

Today, Gubernatorial candidate Roy Barnes was outside my building at a press conference talking about jobs.

Ali and I are in a weekly couples Bible study, which is going well.
